Sep. 22nd, 2014 05:09 am“You know, in Season 1 she comes in kind of balls-out and is rather obnoxious to start. Then through various stuff that’s happened to her, which on the surface perhaps seems not to affect her — having Chilton opened up in front of her seems not to affect her — but ultimately what I think is happening and what I think is written well and hopefully I’ve brought to life well is that this stuff is happening and is affecting her underneath. It’s just this coat of armor on her is so strong, she’s had to wear it to survive and succeed. Ultimately, I think she is looking for the truth. I don’t think it’s just a line like, “Haha, I’m a reporter looking for the truth.” I think she really, truthfully is, and she believes there’s some justice in that and nothing that she’s doing with this moral compass that’s askew is wrong, because she’s doing it in the pursuit of something she believes in. Those couple moments show, actually, these things have affected her. She really, really works her ass off.”

Character Name: Fredricka "Freddie" Lounds
Series: NC's Hannibal
Age: [This is important; it doesn't seem likely that a 12 year old would be a warden, for instance.]
From When?: [At what point in their timeline were they brought aboard the Barge? Inmates must have just died or were about to die.]
Inmate/Warden: [Choose one and say why they're this way. Wardens--Why does the Admiral think your character would be useful as a warden here? What do they bring to the table? Regardless of their good/evil/neutral motiviations, do they have the capacity to help an inmate achieve graduation? Inmates--What does your character still need to change about themselves? How can working with a warden on the Barge help them?]
Item: [Wardens Only -- What Gives you Your Information While Here? Examples -- a compass, a book, a palm pilot, a tarot card, etc.]
Abilities/Powers: [Remember that Inmates will have reduced powers]
Personality:
The Thinker: Logical, original, creative thinkers. Can become very excited about theories and ideas. Exceptionally capable and driven to turn theories into clear understandings. Highly value knowledge, competence and logic. Quiet and reserved, hard to get to know well. Individualistic, having no interest in leading or following others.
Notes: It’s interesting how many personalities in Hannibal are similar. Most of the characters are Thinkers over Feelers, Freddie among them.
image
Introverted: Freddie lacks any social charm and charisma, which means most often people are turned off by her presence. She thinks through things carefully before sharing information and is most comfortable when at home behind her computer screen. Freddie doesn’t appear to have any friends, but instead throws herself into her work as a journalist.
Intuitive: The facts aren’t enough for Freddie. She takes them in and makes intuitive leaps that are usually right, even if she isn’t sure of all the specifics in the moment (Will Graham is unstable, Abigail Hobbs isn’t telling the truth). Freddie is forever in pursuit of information, the staple of an N type, and often looks at the big picture (the “story”) before focusing on the small details.
image
Thinker: Whatever Freddie decides, she puts in print, whether or not it will endanger others, call into question their sanity, or insult them. She isn’t bothered by personal insults. She quickly notices inconsistencies and doesn’t emotionally react when placed in perilous situations. (When confronted with a psychopath who has kidnapped her, she goes along with it, rather than freaking out or making a run for it.) She’s uncaring and largely indifferent to the wreckage in her wake.
Perceiver: Her spontaneity and adaptability are what make Freddie such a good journalist. She’s open to possibilities and flexible enough to stand back and see what happens next. She enjoys her work and considers it “fun” in addition to being beneficial. Her casual approach to her work means she’s open to whatever life throws at her, whether that’s consulting with the FBI or criticizing them.
Barge Reactions: You need to include how they are going to react to the Barge, possibly addressing the other character types, genres, and fandoms they'll be encountering or how they may react to floods or breaches. If the character has stayed on the Barge before, what effect did it have on them?
Please write this in complete sentences, and in paragraphs as you would in any normal area of the application. Do not divide into sections and label each with adjectives. This makes it seem choppy and harder to read.]
Path to Redemption: [(INMATES ONLY) Please outline possible ways a Warden can get through to them, possible triggers, methods, motives for them to change. This section can serve to give Warden players some idea of which route to take in working with your Inmate. While we don't expect every Inmate to become redeemed, they have to AT LEAST have potential for it. Irredeemable Inmates are not acceptable.]
History:
Sample Journal Entry: [5-10 sentences (of spoken/written monologue, not including narration) 1st Person POV. This sample should reflect the character's day-to-day behavior and a distinctive voice. Must be Barge setting specific.]
Sample RP: [3-5 paragraphs, 3rd Person POV. Must be Barge setting specific.]

Rapture at the Bioshock wiki
History: Born on September 24, 1925, Fredericka Lounds knew she was meant to be something else. Perhaps not famous, but certainly something. The girl was born and raised in New Jersey to a single mother, born out of wedlock. To say this was difficult was underestimating it. Unlike widows, Freddie and her mother got no help from the community. On the contrary, there were always whispers, words of disdain, especially over Freddie's mother. No one took pity on a child not married,

-parents (there but neglectful (step-father, previous father died in wwi???), mom controls him, freddie mimics. maybe learns manipulating men is a-ok?)

-career (used to sneaking around b/c of gender (<--describe? pen name 'freddie/freddy' starts? avoid mulan cliche), landed a job overseas for wwii
-uncovered some propaganda shady stuff (1950)(with us would get her in more trouble possibly), found too much. blacklisted from most newspapers, etc (life threats?)
-high-tailed it out and into rapture(1951), refused to learn lesson--wrote some shit about ryan (is NOT pro-atlas, is deliciously neutral) the moment she was employed in rapture tribune. OBVIOUSLY FIRED, perhaps gone underground?
-set up tattle crime hotline w/ ez wave radio. popular?? text to avoid voice etc
